Danny's first wife was my first cousin, Rita. They had a son together (John Daniel Radford, Jr.). Danny and Rita would date when Rita come down from New Jersey to spend the summer with me every year. They got married at Bill and my house one summer when she come down. Danny was in the National Guard and got a transfer to N.J. After John was born they moved to Rock Hill for awhile until they got a divorce and Rita and John moved back to N.J.. His second wife ended up being a good friend of mine. It was truly a shock when he died. His current wife at the time and both ex-wives were all at his funeral as was his son and 2 daughters. I guess it just showed there were no hard feelings. Everybody loved Danny.

Danny was a dear friend of mine from Finley Road days. I remember seeing him at I believe our 25th reunion and he had let his hair grow long. He had had cancer and God had healed him. We talked about his experience, and he told me he had made a promise to God that to thank Him for healing him of cancer, he would never cut his hair again. I lost touch with Danny after that reunion and learned later that he had passed away, far too young to be taken. He was a precious man, and I was honored to call him friend.
